Humble Beginnings
Good Choice X-pert (GCX) Tree Service is a local family-owned and operated tree service founded in 1972. GCX Tree Service was started by Willie Davis, an Army Veteran, as a means to care for his wife and children.
When Willie Davis started this company, he had nothing but a pick up truck, a couple of chain saws, some ropes and the WILL to do whatever it took to get the job done right. Because of his limited equipment, he had to develop safe and effective ways to perform tree removal, trimming, and clean up of the resulting debris without injuring himself, his groundsmen or damaging property. His quality of work and professionalism proceeded him, as he was able to operate soley on word of mouth throughout his entire ownership of the company.
Willie's son, Paul Davis, is the current owner and operator who has studied tree service work first hand under his father's tutelage since age 12. Growing up, Paul showed a budding interest in the business with the hopes of one day becoming the owner after Willie retired. With dreams of building on the strong foundation provided by his father's years of instruction, Paul Davis attended college at Alabama State University, earning a Bachelor's degree in Business Management. His college experience and new found knowledge only strengthened his zeal and vision for the advancement of the tree service such that, upon his return from college, Paul applied to formally license the business as an LLC. He has since worked with his father to amass an arsenal of equipment, allowing the business to expand it's services to include commercial projects.
Paul Davis has been the sole owner and operator since 2014 with a relentless determination to provide quality tree services with professionalism and customer service that is second to none.
